The Durban Shongweni Club provides a full livery stabling facility for 50 horses. Current equine residents at the Club range from dressage and eventing champions that have competed at national level to happy hacks and a number of horses whose owners practice the holistic training method of Parelli Natural Horsemanship.
Margie Keyter, who brings a wealth of equine experience to the Club, expertly manages the livery stables and resident horses. Margie is assisted by an Induna, Gorman, and nine grooms, who are constantly being trained and supervised.
Facilities for stablers at the Club include: a sand dressage arena, an all-weather jumping arena, two lunge rings, a polo field and direct access to the sugar cane. The Club is one of the leading show venues in KwaZulu-Natal, which makes it a very convenient base for competitive riders. It also provides an opportunity for any resident horse to become completely de-sensitised and accustomed to the bustling activities of the property and show like conditions.
Stabling currently costs R2850 per month, inclusive of the groom, hay, shavings and 4kgs of food
